My first hand at selective colorizing is manipulation of a shot from several months ago on a hike in Columbia, MO. I'm climbing a steep learning curve with Nikon's Capture NX2 for editing.

Today has been representative of how I've experienced the weather around here for what seems like an eternity. Cold and grey, snow, bright sun, more snow, more cold and grey - all in the same day. Dang, I am sooo ready for spring weather again.

After four years of living in Kansas City, Kelly and I dared to take the boys to the Nelson Atkins Museum. They lasted about 90 minutes - and then their ability to control their impulses was wearing pretty thin. Thankfully, no one in our party tried to climb a sculpture or ended up wearing a painting. And, in the end, I found an artist that is right at my speed. Donald Judd was a minimalist sculptor that does beautiful work. Clean. Simple. Architectural.

The idea of this assignment is simple. Take a picture that will define all of that day for you in the future. This is an exploration in the ability to capture a story with you camera. Try posting the image and the story that goes with it. Lets call the due date next Tuesday, February 15th at noon.
